NOBIL is a Nordic database of charging stations that is primarily used in Norway and Sweden, NOBIL is also ready to handle data from other Nordic countries.
NOBIL Core Function
NOBIL gathers and disseminates information effectively to third parties. NOBIL focuses solely on data collection and reporting and is not involved in commercial or business operations of charging station owners and operators. NOBIL is an open database where owners of charging points voluntarily submit data.
Separating Data and Services
NOBIL has drawn a clear line between the database and the services built upon it. The Norwegian EV Association and Enova take responsibility for collecting charging station data, verifying its accuracy, and making it accessible to all. However, it is up to the market to develop services that utilize this data from NOBIL. These services cater to the everyday needs of EV users, whether through websites, mobile apps, or integrated navigation systems within electric vehicles.
Energimyndigheten (Sweden)
Nobil is a state-owned Norwegian database, with representation by state actors from the participating countries. Energimyndigheten oversees the management of Sweden's data within the system.
ChargePanel and NOBIL
ChargePanel has intergrated with NOBIL for the purpose of enabling customers
to report their public charge stations to NOBIL through the ChargePanel platform. Reporting public charge stations is optional.
Subsidies and Grants
Subsidies and grants to support the rollout of charging infrastructure in Sweden and Norway, can include a requirement to connect to NOBIL. Customers of ChargePanel can meet this reporting requirement by activating NOBIL for their account.
Monthly Fee
It is free to submit data to NOBIL. ChargePanel charges a small monthly fee to support the maintenance and development of the platform interfaces and connection to Nobil.
